LAPAROSCOP ICALLY - ASSISTED VAGINAL HYSTERECTOMY: REP ORT OF 15 CASES
نویسندگان
چکیده مقاله:
Laparoscopically-assisted vaginal hysterectomy (LAVH) was performed in fifteen patients without invasive cancer. Indications for hysterectomy were myomas, abnormal uterine bleeding unresponsive to hormonal treatment and dilatation and curettage, chronic pelvic pain with first degree uterine prolapse and possible adenomyosis, and dysplasia and ovarian cyst in postmenopausal years. No significant complication was observed during the operation or postoperatively. This report proves that minimally invasive procedures (LA VH) can replace conventional hysterectomies in experienced hands.

متن کاملLaparoscopic Assisted Vaginal Hysterectomy versus Vaginal Hysterectomy
Hysterectomy is one of the commonest gynecological operations. The outcomes following vaginal hysterectomy have been proved to be better than those following abdominal hysterectomy. Since the availability and widespread use of laparoscopic hysterectomy, the mode of hysterectomy is an issue of debate in cases of non prolapsed uteri, amongst proponents of vaginal and laparoscopic surgery. Laparos...

Abstract Background: Hysterectomy is the second most common major surgery procedure done after cesarean section by gynecologists in many countries and the most common procedure is total abdominal hysterectomy (TAH). The incidence of laparoscopically assisted vaginal hysterectomy (LAVH) performed for benign lesions has progressively increased in recent years. Our objective was to compare...
متن کاملLaparoscopically assisted vaginal hysterectomy: report of 190 cases.
We report 190 cases where laparoscopy assisted vaginal hysterectomy (LAVH) was used as a primary procedure when the patients were not suitable candidates for a vaginal hysterectomy (VH) either because of lack of prolapse or multiple abdominal surgeries. All the surgeries were done by the same gynecologist. A total of 209 cases were performed, but 8 cases (3.8%) have been converted to TAH becaus...
متن کاملLaparoscopically assisted vaginal hysterectomy: a review of 106 cases.
Laparoscopically assisted vaginal hysterectomy (LAVH) was compared to total abdominal hysterectomy (TAH). One hundred and six cases of LAVH were compared to 106 cases of TAH performed during the same time period. The cases were matched for weight and uterine weight. LAVH procedures were associated with increased operating room (OR) time (146.0 +/- 3.4 vs 61.9 +/- 2.3 min), decreased length of p...
متن کاملMinilaparotomically Assisted Vaginal Hysterectomy
Endoscopic hysterectomy is increasingly selected as a current trend to minimize invasion, tissue trauma and early recovery. However it has disadvantages of the difficulty to learn and needs expensive equipments. So we developed a new minimally invasive method of vaginal hysterectomy-minilaparotomically assisted vaginal hysterectomy (MAVH) in order to complement the current laparoscopic surgery....
